The end of the semester stress

Ok so it is the end of the semester and the gears have increase to like 120 production. This week for was crazy and then someone had the nerve to pull the fire alarm at 2 in the mourning. I am so glad I was already up due to the fact I had taken a late nite nap. Which was the best. It always seem like my body can never get enough rest.I so read to get my finals over with and be done with this semester and my life of many obstacles. Now that it is the end of the semester I have created a wiki for our teacher but still waiting on a respond to help her walk through the steps I even gave her my phone number. But the one thing I would be the communication between us which is a little delayed due to both parties. Like this technology class looking back has broaden my knowledge on alot of the technologies out there in the world. But now that it is final time everyone is in a cruch and do to some delayed grading and recent comments on past presentation. My group and I are very concern with our grade. Some of the feed back was very negative which created such a shell shock because we all felt we been working very hard. Along with following guidelines but now that we have receive these comments, we feel that some guidelines that was wanted was not articulated to our group with several break downs of communication. This leads to alot of frustration among me and other group memebers because this lack of communication seem to becoming a theme of this class. This leaves me in a very sticky postion that makes me very upset since all this information is coming out the weekend before finals and I get lowerer then an A in this class I will be very unhappy. Due to the hard work ,dedication and out side class time i put into this class. So now I can just hope for the best

Wiki vs. Blog

Follow the respond of our teacher and she describe what she wanted from the blog. The pieces were not falling together for john n I as we would like to n how the blog would flow the best. Following a discussion with Mj we decided that a wiki would probably be the best medium to use since the setting can be set private for the class. It is interactive with out the mess of every student getting a google account. After informing our teacher of our thoughts through email. We are waiting for a response and following that we plan to work on setting up a wiki which I think will be a easy way to collaborate with her class. The only down fall I see with wiki that I found was wiki is for people that know a little bit about technolgy. So that settings of the page will be correct. But I look forward to helping our teacher set up her wiki page or blog which ever one she wants to do.

progression

This is a new week. My group has planned a pretty good presentation about japan culture. I told my teacher about our blog spot but i have not heard a response to kinda get a feel of the things she like or did not like. Giving her ideas about how here blog could look like. Sometimes its hard to direct others because blogs and other social networking site are so unique to each person each having there own thing. But John and I are more then willing to help get her start and blogs are pretty easy so once you get the basics the world of blogging is endless. But i emailed her today so i can just wait for a response. Class is always so random. But i do find myself using the technology more that was presented especially google docs has become like my top website. Due to the fact while I'm at work I can accomplish work and don't feel bad about saving info on the computer or emailing it to myself i just use the google docs and it save it self and i can come back later. It makes my studying more efficient i can definitely say that for the past exam i took today. But i still havent completly understand jing which i think is possibel the only way our teacher will understand how to step up a blog and of course the easiest. so i will need to work on that. Oh and this is a side bar but the nba season opener was yetersday , so i was very excited but the dallas team lost to washington D.C which is such a shocker to me becuase i didnt think they were that good. And as always the replays are always of lebron and kobe and there crazy skills. So i decieded to do something different and add a video of the game.

Short Week

We receive an email from our teacher. Its kinda exciting now to see how we can help our teacher use technology in her class. However, john and I are still trying to figure the best way for the blog to work . The information that we have so far a google document could also be used. But no matter what all the student would have to get a yahoo, google or an aim account. Which is something that may or may not be possible. But our teacher request is very simple.
This was a very short school week. It just seem that time goes pass so fast its like a month and its thanksgiving which basically mean the semester is over. which is crazy but i'm glad to have this little vacation even though it just more time to study for my test next week.

First full week in Oct.

This week is pretty much the same. We still have not heard back from our teacher but this is kinda causing a lack of interest. Due the fact the semester almost over so even if we teacher her some thing we will not be able to really see it though. But I still have hope because I can't imagine the world without technology n the wonderful things her students are missing out on without. As well as learning opportunities especially globally to see how someone lives n learn.

This week hybrid I did a presentation on social bookmarking. I will say no matter how dorky it is that learn new technology and the way it easy your life is always amazing. And i loved how my group member used a jing in our presentation. I will say I was a little worried becuase that is not a technology that i mastered. But it went real well.

Weekly post

The Post:

We are suppose to do weekly blog post but the concept of typing ideas sometimes seems to slip my mind. I feel this class does present some topics that are very interesting , but has a MAJOR problem with organization. There is an unclear concept of what is suppose to be done. However, our professor mention this was a test class. I agree it is a good idea to have hybrid classes. Where you do not have to always meet. As well as it creates a connection with others that are in your groups. But I feel the presentation of new technology is a little confusing presentation idea is good. But I feel there should all so be some lab activity to bring all the ideas together. As well as the world presentations to me direction is very very very unclear. I understand we broke up the world into parts. Each has there form of technology ok and that is it I dont know how this is going to be turned in a semester long project. Due to the fact this is a new class I personal would not be comfortable with presenting what I learned from this class to the Vcu president. I feel I have learn things about the new technologies available, but not enough to be an expert just general background information. Which is one of my fear with me work with a teacher. Despite the fact she never wrote us back. I feel the most helpful new technology presented so far to a teacher would be blogging for group topics, goggle docs for like more structure classroom thing like sybullus, objectives and notes, and delious with like research papers or topics.

This week in my group we prepared a good presentation. I love the country that I have choosen the china/ japan/ Korea group. I love this culture and due to my lack of knowledge about the culture makes me even more interested in knowing so much more. Now the next step I need to take is to learn the language.

First Blog / Global Presentation 1

This course has peak my interest and understanding of the power of technology. Hopefully with more organization and better explaination of course projects. However, I will say the course have become more clear but I feel there is a lack of understand that many are not as advance as others in the field of technology.

I feel this opportunity to work with teachers in a great to get more students involve. I feel like for so long education has been taught in a way that is not helpful to student with a variety of learning styles. Unfortunatly I am one of those student who learn better when its more hands on or visual. Which one thing I love about this class because their are visual learning with the video in which I learn the best. Even though these technology can unity learning for all learning styles it can become a depended on way to much that something will be loss. I feel like something have to be done in person.

Personally as I feel that everyone put great effort into their research and there topic. We work very well as a group since everyone knew their topic and the deadline for the information. The leader made sure that everyone was clear on group details.I feel that everyone deserve a good grade for their work.

We just have to wait and see how the presentation goes which I feel will go good
